Pakistani authorities brief on latest development in Confucius Institute attack

Officials of Pakistan's Sindh province and the country's counterterrorism department on Tuesday held a press conference to share the latest investigation of the terrorist attack on the Confucius Institute of the University of Karachi in April, according to CMG reporters.

According to Sharjeel Memon, provincial information minister, the terrorist attack was aimed at "sabotaging China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project and stopping foreign investment in Pakistan."

He said the arrested key suspect is the commander of separatist groups the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and is good at making improvised explosive devices, adding that the investigation into the suspect and the case is ongoing.
