British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his resignation as Conservative Party leader in an address on Thursday.

He confirmed he will remain in office "until a new leader is in place."

A full cabinet has been appointed in the UK government hours before Boris Johnson made his resignation statement. 

Dozens of government officials have resigned from the UK government after two senior Cabinet ministers resigned on Tuesday.
