Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe passed away at 5:03 p.m. local time after being shot while giving a speech, Nara medical hospital confirmed at a press conference.
Abe had no vital signs upon his arrival at the hospital, doctors said, adding that he had injuries in the heart and neck.
