Police identify suspect, confiscate gun

Local police have identified the suspect in the Abe shooting as Tetsuya Yamagami, who lives in Nara prefecture and is in his 40s, according to NHK.

According to police, the gun was confiscated at the scene.

Witnesses said two gunshots were heard one to two minutes after the speech began.
