Strict, targeted COVID-19 control measures slash Macao cases
00:56

The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) has implemented targeted COVID-19 prevention and control measures at different levels in multiple districts since a new outbreak was detected on June 18. The authorities have conducted nucleic acid and rapid antigen testing for all Macao residents and groups in critical regions. The Macao SAR will suspend all non-essential business services and activities for one week starting July 11 due to COVID-19.

With the help of hundreds of sampling personnel from the Chinese mainland, Macao will complete three rounds of nucleic acid testing within a week from July 4, with rapid antigen kits and better protective masks being distributed to residents. As of the completion of testing on July 5, the number of positive cases detected had fallen to 88.
