Analysts: strong showing by ruling LDP gives boost to Kishida's agenda

Polls have opened in Japan for its upper house elections, two days after Shinzo Abe was assassinated. He was on a campaign trail for the ruling LDP. Analysts say a strong showing at the polls by the LDP could give Prime Minister Fumio Kishida a chance to carry out his goals, which include boosting defense spending and revising Japan's pacifist constitution.
