00:45

China and Indonesia recently began joint construction of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway (HSR). Built with Chinese technology, the Jakarta-Bandung HSR is a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative that will slash the journey between the two cities from more than three hours to around 40 minutes. The route is 142 kilometers long, with a design speed of 350 km per hour. On the main line, the ballasted track section is 112.8 kilometers, while the ballastless section is 166.6 km long, all using 50-meter rails produced in China.
