Public entertainment venues in Lanzhou, the capital city of northwest China's Gansu Province, will close for one week, officials said Sunday, after the city logged a handful of COVID-19 cases.

Lanzhou has recorded ten confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 17 asymptomatic cases as of Sunday in the latest outbreak, said the municipal health commission.

Public entertainment places including pubs, internet cafes and karaoke bars would shut their doors from Monday, the city government said in a notice.

Restaurants will not be allowed to serve diners indoors but may continue to offer takeaway services, read the notice.
