Protesters in Sri Lanka commandeered both the Presidential Palace and prime minister's residence over the weekend, demanding that both leaders resign. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa announced that he would leave office on July 13, and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will leave on the same day. The speaker of Sri Lanka's parliament said the country will elect a new president on July 20.
