China's National Meteorological Center has issued a rainstorm alert for some parts of the country. China has a four-tier weather warning system, the latest alert was blue, which is the least severe warning. The center says from 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, rainstorms are expected in Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning and Shandong. Some regions will also experience short-term heavy rainfall. The center has advised local governments to be prepared, and to check the drainage systems in cities, farmland and local fisheries. In Heilongjiang's Wudalianchi city, one person was killed whilst seven others remain missing, after floods hit a village in the city.
