The United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution on July 12 that extends its authorization of cross-border humanitarian assistance to Syria for another six months. Dai Bing, China's deputy permanent representative to the UN, said that China welcomes the Security Council's adoption of the extension. China has always maintained that humanitarian assistance to Syria should respect its sovereignty and the ownership of the Syrian government.
