The aspiration for global development is shared by all. Human development and international efforts to reduce poverty and inequality and improve health, education and job opportunities are all crucial for everyone. The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals is a great list of things to do for the world through hard work and cooperation. In response to that and the common agenda for global development, China proposes the Global Development Initiative, or GDI, calling on the world to stay committed to development. Now, the world is becoming ever more complex and going through profound changes. So the question is: How can media stay on top of the grand transformation of global development, and focus on the common responsibilities, particularly those from emerging economies?
