Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said Wednesday that he has instructed the military and the police "to do what is necessary to restore order."
The demonstrators "want to stop me from discharging my responsibilities as acting president," he said in a televised statement after protesters stormed his office.
