China calls on relevant parties to make efforts to promote peace talks and de-escalate Russia-Ukraine tensions, which serves the interests of all parties, Commerce Ministry spokesperson Shu Jueting said on Thursday.

Shu made the remarks in response to a question about U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s discussion on capping Russian oil prices during a video call with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He.
