China has always believed that international disputes should be resolved peacefully in accordance with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Thursday.

Noting that China's position on Ukraine crisis has been "consistent and unequivocal," Wang called for resolving differences through negotiation while avoiding escalation. He made the remarks in response to the severance of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
