There was a time when painting, calligraphy, chess and music were the activities in which women in ancient China immersed themselves. Nowadays, women are kicking and throwing punches, and finding more ways to express and empower themselves. Women's boxing can be traced back to the 18th century in London, but it wasn't until the 1950s when women boxers turned professional. Since then, more women have taken up the sport, many seeing it as a way to stay in shape, defend themselves, or even go pro. CGTN's Sias du Plessis tells us more from South Africa.
