Lawmakers in North Macedonia on Saturday passed a French-brokered deal to settle a dispute with Bulgaria and clear the way to long-due European Union membership talks.

The deal proposes that North Macedonia's constitution be amended to recognize a Bulgarian minority, while the remaining issues be discussed between Skopje and Sofia.
