A heatwave continues to scorch a large part of China, with temperatures reaching record high in many areas. In the southwest, Chongqing recorded the country's highest night temperature of 33 degrees Celsius. Shanghai saw its hottest day since weather records keeping began in 1873, with mercury touching 40.9  degrees Celsius. The country is facing heatwave for the last one month.
