The Yanhu salt lake in Yuncheng City in north China's Shanxi Province, has turned into a multi-colored palette. As the mercury continues to rise, Yanhu appears even more colorful. The lake is spread over an area of 132 square kilometers and is 30 kilometers in length. Dating back millions of years, it's one of the top three inland salt lakes in the world. Experts say the rising temperatures have resulted in unusually fast growth of the algae and artemia in the lake. And different types of algae at different densities reflect different lights, producing a kaleidoscopic image.
