U.S. President Joe Biden has met with the Saudi King and crown prince in Jeddah, in an effort to reset ties between the two countries. The U.S. and Saudi Arabia made several announcements ranging from removing peacekeepers from a strategic island off the Saudi and Egyptian coasts to cooperation in 5G networks, cybersecurity and space exploration on July 15. The U.S. has also welcomed previously announced accelerated oil production increases by OPEC plus, a group which includes Saudi Arabia and Russia. Saudi Arabia is the last stop on Biden's first Middle East tour as president.
