China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), the country's top offshore oil and gas producer, has announced that its record-setting homegrown 340.5-meter, 40,000-tonne Haiji-1 300-meter deep-water jacket, Asia's first such platform, completed all installation and testing on Friday. Located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin in Guangdong Province, it is expected to enter operation in the second half of this year to serve the Lufeng 15-1 oilfield platform in the South China Sea. Its peak daily output will reach 6,500 tonnes of oil when fully operational.
