At least 23 people drowned on Monday after a boat carrying more than 50 passengers capsized in the Indus River near Sadiqabad, Pakistan, local media reported.

Local police said the passengers were part of a marriage procession heading towards Machka from Kharor.

The boat capsized because it was overloaded, officials said. 

The search for the 26 missing people is still underway.
