The Weihe River in northwest China's Gansu and Shaanxi provinces has swollen to dangerous levels, while more than 6,000 people have been relocated. Meanwhile, as high-temperature alerts continue across China from Shanghai in the east to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the northwest, water levels in central China's Poyang Lake have been falling.
