Nearly half of EU's territory 'at risk' of droughts: EU commission

The European Commission said on Monday in a report that almost half of the EU's territory is "at risk of droughts."
"River discharge in multiple countries is severely affected, with stored water volumes also depleted — requiring special water and energy management measures to be taken," it stated.
