The prevailing heatwave has baked much of Europe, prompting the UK to issue a "Red Extreme" heat warning last Friday. Images captured on July 17 show that the water-levels of two reservoirs in northern England have dropped significantly.

The Scammonden Reservoir and Baitings Reservoir in West Yorkshire both reveal their dried-out floors. According to the online edition of The Mirror, a British newspaper, water firms such as the Yorkshire Water has urged people to reduce their daily water usage as reservoirs have hit a low point.
