The degraded pastures of Nyanpo Yuzee in southeastern Qinghai are home to many white-rumped snowfinches and plateau pikas. Often, the snowfinches fly into the pikas' burrows, without any objection from the occupants. Describing the closeness of this relationship, there's a saying among the locals that the snowfinches could carry the pikas across the Yellow River.
