During his inspection in Xinjiang, President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of developing a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and encouraging more exchanges and interactions among different ethnic groups. Chinese people believe all its 56 ethnic groups should embrace each other like the seeds of the pomegranate.

President Xi wished the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang a life of happiness for many years to come.  

People of different ethnic groups, dressed in their folk costumes, showed sincere respect and support for the president.
