Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has been a multi-ethnic region since ancient times and is home to over 45 ethnic groups. During Chinese President Xi Jinping's inspection tour here, he visited Xinjiang Museum, the Jiaohe Ruins and the Museum of Military Reclamation of the XPCC. Xi stressed promoting ethnic unity during his visit and was welcomed with applause, laughter and cheers wherever he went.
