Yu Yang, assistant professor of Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences at Tsinghua University, says China's digital economy helps keep society more robust and resilient during the pandemic by helping reduce losses and allow quick economy recovery. He adds that regulations on the sector not only avoid market failures, but also bring novel entrepreneurship and investment opportunities.
