Europe's scorching heatwave could continue into next week

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has warned that the heatwave will continue to grip Europe at least until next week, and may cause more deaths. Petteri Taalas, the secretary-general of the WMO, said the heatwave in Europe is a global wake-up call that can only be mitigated around 2060 if global warming is further curbed.
