South Africa's Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma announced on Monday that the national state of disaster has been extended to August 18 in KwaZulu-Natal province due to the impact of severe weather events, local media has reported.
Floods wreaking havoc in KwaZulu-Natal have caused 461 fatalities and affected more than 85,280 people, including thousands left homeless in five districts and the eThekwini Municipality.
