Five Central Asian countries agreed upon the treaty on friendship, good-neighborliness and cooperation for the development in the 21st century and the procedure for its signing began, Kazakhstan presidential press service said on Thursday.

The gathering of leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan was held in the Issyk-Kul Lake town of Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
