China held its annual national conference on cultural heritage and relics in Beijing on Friday.

Cultural heritage and relics workers have a glorious mission and shouder great responsibility, said Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, in his speech at the conference.

Wang noted the importance of solid and in-depth work in cultural heritage and relics protection and the need to strengthen management, deepening research on the history of civilization and improving the ability to innovate and interpret culture relics.

Wang also stated that it is necessary to deepen international exchanges and cooperation in cultural relics and enhance the international influence of Chinese culture.
