Unusual warm weather in northern Greenland causes high-rate ice melt

In northern Greenland, several days of unusually warm weather have triggered rapid ice melting. According to the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center, the ice that melted in Greenland between July 15 and 17 alone would be enough to fill 7.2 million Olympic-sized swimming pools.
