'Glamping' tents become popular spots for rocket viewing in China
02:29

More than eight million tourists visited Wenchang in south China's Hainan island last year. The coastal city got a major boost in tourism after becoming the country's fourth - and southernmost space launch site. Crowds are back this summer to see the lift-off of Wentian lab module, which will form part of the China Space Station. Up to 100,000 people are expected to line the coast across the launch pad to catch a glimpse of the rocket. Hardcore fans travel thousands of kilometers across the country to see the spectacle, others camp out on the beach to reserve the best viewing spot. Travel agencies are cashing in on the space hype as well, offering "glamping tents" just steps away from the rocket viewing beach.
