Flood triggered by heavy rainfall inundates farmland in NE China

Several parts of Tieling City in northeast China's Liaoning Province have been experiencing severe convective weather since the start of July. The recent rainfall surpassed the seasonal record to become the highest volume of rain the area has ever seen since it started recording it in 1951.

The Liaohe River swelled and overflowed its banks, flooding nearly 4,700 hectares of farmland and many greenhouses along the levee.
