"I teach them about a lot of levels of systemic oppression, from mass incarceration to racism within the educational system. I've had students come to me and talk about their experiences with racism and police brutality. This has been the experience of a lot of black and brown folks for years," said Jean Messeroux, a high school teacher in New York City.
