Afghanistan has urged the U.S. to unfreeze its overseas assets as soon as possible. Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi made the statement during a conference in Uzbekistan, which was held to garner economic and social support for Afghanistan. Muttaqi said Western sanctions and the freezing of Afghan assets seriously impact the Afghan economy and people's lives.
