At least one person was killed in a Russian strike on a Ukrainian hotel in the town of Bakhmut in Donetsk region on Wednesday, local authorities said.

"According to preliminary information, there are dead and wounded, a rescue operation is underway," Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko wrote on Facebook. The local emergency service said a toll of one dead and four wounded has been confirmed so far.

 Kyrylenko also said three missile strikes on Toretsk and one on Avdiivka were also launched.
