Shanghai-based ZJ Bio-Tech Co. Ltd., has received urgent purchase orders for the monkeypox virus test kits from the World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO declared on July 23 that the monkeypox outbreak is a public health emergency of international concern, its highest alert level.
The test kits use the specific fluorescence method to accurately identify the virus by measuring its genetic segmentation.
With the test kits being sent out to 41 countries all around the world, the company is now aiming to provide support for accurate diagnosis, and prevention and control of the disease.
"The manufacturing platform of nucleic acid test kit is very mature due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Our current daily production capacity has reached more than 3 million," said Shao Junbin, chairman of Shanghai ZJ Bio-Tech Co., Ltd.
