Ukrainian lawmakers on Wednesday approved the appointment of Andriy Kostin as the country's new prosecutor general.

Kostin is a member of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Servant of the People party.

Earlier this month, Zelenskyy sacked Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova and security chief Ivan Bakanov, amid a high number of cases of suspected treason by Ukrainian law enforcement officials.
