Stunning images of swirling star trails were recently captured in the night sky above Mount Taranaki in New Zealand using time-lapse photography.

Photographer Larryn Rae produced the images by taking multiple photographs in one position over several hours and then "stacking" them together. Rae, who hails from Wanaka in New Zealand, spent days traveling and camping in the area and also captured amazing shots of the Milky Way.
