The war has left Afghanistan with a devastated land and suffering people. From 2009 to 2021, more than 110,000 civilians were killed or injured, according to a United Nations report on civilian casualties. 

Sultani, who works at a prosthetics rehabilitation center in Kabul, is one of the victims. He lost his father when he was two and his legs to a mortar shell when he was three. With the help of the rehabilitation center, Sultani gradually regained hope in life and became a member of the Afghan national wheelchair basketball team.
