Songda, the fifth typhoon of this year, formed on the east of Naha, Okinawa, Japan at 8 p.m. on July 28. Due to the typhoon, heavy rainfalls have occurred in many Chinese provinces including Jiangsu, Shandong, Anhui, Zhejiang and Fujian. The typhoon is expected to slowly move northeast at a speed of 5 to 10 kilometers per hour and continue to lose its strength.
