Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng on Thursday summoned Chargé d' Affaires of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing Jim Nickel, and lodged stern representations and strong protests over a Taiwan-related statement made by the Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers and the EU High Representative.

Xie said China urges the Canadian side to immediately correct its mistakes, stop using erroneous words and actions on the Taiwan question, or bear all consequences.
