At a time when everyone thinks the world can't take any more disruptions, Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, visited China's Taiwan region recently and met with its leader Tsai Ing-wen. Her visit becomes the highest-level U.S. visit to Taiwan in 25 years. As countermeasures, China's armed forces have begun live-fire military drills and missile tests around Taiwan, in six exclusion zones encircling the island.
