The head of a Chinese business association in Germany said the association members strongly condemn U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to China's Taiwan.
"We were surprised and shocked to learn on August 2 that U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi was visiting China's Taiwan region. At a time when the global landscape is already very sensitive, it is unwise for Speaker Pelosi to try to drive a wedge between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan. We strongly condemn Pelosi's visit. We overseas Chinese stand firmly with our compatriots in the motherland, support the policies of the Chinese government, and hope that the motherland will achieve reunification soon," said Wang Lei, chairman of the Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Germany's Lower Saxony.
