The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) between China and 14 other countries came into effect in January, creating the world's largest free trade area, accounting for over 30 percent of global GDP. The pact has been a boon for southwest China's Sichuan Province, which recently announced that foreign trade of goods under the deal hit just under $400 million in the first half of the year.
