Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan said on Saturday that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
"Back in Singapore and tested positive when I returned. It's been a good run despite all the travels, but COVID-19 has finally caught up with me. Fortunately, I have only mild symptoms thanks to the vaccinations and boosters," he wrote on Twitter, and called on people who have been in contact with him over the past two days to do an antigen rapid test.
He attended the foreign ministers' meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) earlier this week in Cambodia and held bilateral meetings on the sidelines with diplomats from countries including Russia, Cambodia, the U.S. and Indonesia.
