This year's Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group internship event, known as the XCMG Program, invited participants from a variety of backgrounds to work at its offices in China, Germany, Brazil, Thailand, and India. After completing multiple rounds of the XCMG Challenge, they finally came to the company's Xuzhou headquarter for on-site training at its workshops, labs, and equipment testing sites.
PRIYASHA SHARMA XCMG Program intern from India "It was a five day event and it was planned very very precisely, each day we would visit like two factories of XCMG, and it was not just like showing the machines and factories. They had events that we could try the machines like we could ride the machines."
TIM CLANCY XCMG Program intern from Australia "The best achievement was trying out many of these sort of heavy equipments. You think that they would be very complicated to control, but actually, with a bit of training and someone telling you what to do by your side, they're pretty easy to use."
Since 2016, the event has attracted more than five million fans online. It aims to build a platform for construction machinery fans at home and abroad, and is part of a new era where the phrase "made in China" is seen to go hand-in-hand with innovation and smart technology.
LI GE Secretary of the party committee, Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group "We do hope the international interns can come to XCMG to know traditional Chinese culture and our industrial advancement. This is the best way to communicate and to strengthen friendships as well."
XCMG is ranked third in the world for heavy machinery manufacturers. These international internship programs are helping the company to diversify its talent pool and stay at the forefront of innovation. Bi Ran, CGTN.
